Relax, Rest & Restore with Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a state of well being where we can experience a complete dissolution of the world and bring our minds and bodies to rest.
While often associated with sleep, yoga nidra is actually a space beyond waking, dreaming and sleeping in which your life force energy can move and flow, healing can occur, and you can rest in your true self.
There are said to be many benefits to practicing Yoga Nidra including promoting better sleep, reducing stress and anxiety, pain management, improved concentration, and manifesting your purpose and intention. This yoga nidra practice is a holiday gift for my family, friends and clients and I hope that you will find that it brings some spaciousness to welcome the holiday season and the winter solstice. I wish you rest and restoration and good cheer for the holidays!
To prepare for this practice, please lay flat on your back on a yoga mat on the floor (or if that’s not possible a bed or sofa will do). Make sure you are warm (blankets are encouraged!) and use pillows to prop your head and neck and maybe under your knees as well if you have any low back issues. If you fall asleep, that is perfectly fine and exactly what your body needs, but if you can try to stay awake that is even better.
Happy Holidays and lots of love! Emily xoxo
